The Barrington Book (19-20)

What if everyone at Barrington read the same book?

The Barrington Book is a school-wide read together in which participating families read the same story at home over the course of a few weeks.

In addition to sharing a good book, students have a chance to answer book-related trivia questions at school during lunch. Correct trivia answers are included in a prize raffle each week. It is our hope that this is an enjoyable family activity and helps build a strong community of readers in our school.

The PTO is excited to announce the 2019-2020 Barrington Book, as it was chosen in conjunction with the new district wide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative.  This year’s book is a beautifully written story about kindness and nature that will resonate with readers of all ages, please join us in reading:

Wishtree, by Katherine Applegate!

Learn more about Wishtree by watching the book trailer here.

Program registration begins the week of January 6th. Book orders must be submitted by January 17th at the latest. You are welcome to find your own copy of the book or purchase a book from the PTO for $10 each (note, the book is only available in hardback at this time). If you are reading aloud as a family only one copy is needed; however, feel free to order as many copies as you’d like.
