Poetry: Eastern Woodlands Poem (women make pottery)

“Eastern Woodlands Poem”
by Mary Grace, grade 5

Women make pottery,

Men go hunting,

Children play from time to time,

As we hear the sound of a bow & arrow hitting a deer WHOPT,

the warrior comes back

we are haughty of him and

he is haughty of himself.

Deer are hard to hunt because they are as fast as lightning.

Women now can do stuff men can do,

but back then women could not do

what men could do.
